Ps 19:1 – The Heavens declare the glory of God. Here in this video is our current best understanding of the physics of light speed travel. Most amazingly, from the perspective of relative time, a photon crosses the observable universe instantly while billions of years pass on Earth. The concept and mystery of time has always fascinated me. When Scripture says that God acted to send the Son when the “fullness of time had come” (Gal 4:4-5). What does that mean? I currently think it refers to something I call “God-time” – that is – time from God’s immanent (not transcendent) perspective . . . whatever that may mean. One day, I hope to dive in and explore the concept of time from the perspective of apologetics. Time, as this video reveals, is inextricably linked to cause/effect in the Universe. And cause/effect is ultimately a potent argument for the existence of God. Can we potentially stop time or cease causality? What happens when our very grasp of of the fabric of reality radically changes? There are deep philosophical and ethical questions here.
While I don’t accept everything this video postulates (i.e., alien life, macro evolution, etc.) there is much here with theological implications. On a related note, I do not think that alien material life exists in the Cosmos for theological reasons which I will expound upon in the future. On the other hand, there is no question that immaterial life (angelic spiritual beings) exists.
One thing I agree with is the assertion that everything we do ripples through time into eternity . . . for either good . . . of bad. In conclusion, this video speaks of mankind transcending in existence, which indeed will happen as we are created in the image of God. But it won’t happen as this video postulates, but rather through the power of the Resurrection of Christ (1 Cor 15). We are part of the greatest story ever told. And it is an eternal story.
Watch to stretch your mind.
