There is only one God. One entailment of divine unity is that all of the actions/operations of God outside himself are undivided. That is, every work of God is a work of all three Persons of the Trinity. The Trinity always act in concert although one Person will often take precedence in each action. Examples:
- Creation: The Father speaks (Gen 1:1), the Son creates (Col 1:16) and the Spirit hovers (Gen 1:2)
- Salvation: The Father sends the Son (1 John 4:14), the Son willingly sacrifices himself (John 10:17-18) and the Holy Spirit seals believers (2 Cor 1:22).
- Resurrection of Christ: The Father raised Jesus (Rom 6:4), while Jesus also claims authority over his own resurrection (John 10:18), and the Holy Spirit is also involved in raising Christ (1 Pet 3:18).
- Return of Christ: The Father dictates the time of Christ’s return (Mark 13:32), the Holy Spirit says “Come” (Rev 22:17), and the Son returns (Rev 19:11-16).
