The imago dei (image of God) mandates a responsible and caring attitude towards animals (Prov 12:10). But the Fall affected mankind’s interaction with animals. Sometimes, however, we get a stunning glimpse of the way it used to be . . . and will be again after the restoration of creation. Isaiah 11:6 previews the future, “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.”
