A pastor, Levi Secord, and long-time resident in Minnesota shares some wisdom on its current situation here. He offers some practical advice.
I’ve spent most of my life, and all my ministry, in Minnesota. What outsiders need to know is that she was not always as crazy as she is now. The state I grew up in seems like an all too distant memory. Right now, at best, Minnesota is the eye of the storm of the culture war. At worst, she is a constant national embarrassment. But this is my home, and these are my people. There is a real need for bold, gospel ministry in this state.
When I consider Minn and the insanity transpiring there, I am reminded of modern-day Turkey where all 7 churches of the book of Revelation were located. It’s as though someone turned out the lights. Or consider Europe where the Reformation occurred and has now become largely secular with vanishing churches. It’s a stark reminder that the enemy is always seeking to quench the light.
Pastor Secord sounds a clarion warning – First, whether you care about the culture war or not, it will eventually come for you.
